The new class

Una día un profesor saludó a su nueva clase.

One day a teacher was greeting his new class.

Se puso de pie frente a la clase y preguntó si alguno de ellos era un idiota, y que si lo eran, deberían levantarse.

He stood up in front of the class and asked if any of them was an idiot, and if they were, they should stand.

Después de un minuto un joven se levantó.

After a minute a young man stood up.

Entonces el profesor le preguntó al chico si realmente pensaba que era un idiota.

The professor then asked the kid if he actually thought he was an idiot.

El chico le respondió: "No, únicamente no quería verle solo ahí de pie".

The kid replied: "No, I just didn't want to see you standing there all by yourself"
