Beth: ¡Hola, Martin! ¿Qué tal en el colegio?

Beth: Hi Martin. How was school?

Martin: Oh, genial. La lección de historia ha sido muy interesante.

Martin: Oh, great. The history lesson was very interesting.

Beth: ¿En serio? ¿Qué has aprendido?

Beth: Really? What did you learn?

Martin: Hemos aprendido sobre el "Gran Incendio de Londres". Destruyó cuatro quintas partes de Londres en 1666.

Martin: We learned about the "Great Fire of London". It destroyed four fifths of London in 1666.

Beth: ¡Eso es horrible!

Beth: That's horrible!

Martin: En realidad, salvó más vidas de personas de las que mató.

Martin: It actually saved more people's lives that it killed.

Beth: ¿Y eso cómo puede ser?

Beth: And how is that possible?

Martin: El incendio mató a muchas ratas que ayudaban a transmitir la peste. Y las víctimas de la peste disminuyeron rápidamente después del incendio.

Martin: The fire killed a lot of rats which helped to transmit the plague. And plague victims dropped rapidly after the fire.

Beth: That's interesting. You learn a lot in school!

Martin: ¡Sí!

Martin: Yes, I do!
